Using sound to bring balance and harmony
It's through listening that we find a connection to learning.
It's through learning that we find a connection to communication.
It's through communication that we find a connection to life.
Improve Your Listening. Improve Your Life.
The Listening Program® (TLP) is a Music Based Sound Simulation method that trains the brain to improve the auditory skills needed to effectively listen, learn and communicate.
The program is easy, affordable, and can be used easily in your own home or school.
It uses high quality audio CD's that integrate specially produced acoustic music, primarily classical, with innovative sound processing techniques that exercise the brain and auditory pathways.
The Listening Program® is especially effective for improving auditory processing problems
including short term memory and difficulty listening in the presence of background noise.
University research, school pilot studies, and case reports consistently demonstrate 2-3 year gains on standardised testing with just 20 to 40 hours listening. Some of the many reasons why children experience learning difficulties are neuro-developmental delay, a disorganised central nervous system, immature reflexes, auditory processing problems, emotional blockage and food sensitivity.
The Listening Program® is designed to improve the listener's processing of sound - which is quite different from hearing. It is designed to work on the physiological and neurological structure of the brain – quite different to music therapy which is of psychological benefit.
Health Potential is the first to bring The Listening Program® to Tasmania. We assess each child and work with their individual needs. Additional treatments include specific physical therapy exercises and education in the area of behaviour and nutrition.
